William T. Kaplan
Mr. Kaplan focuses his practice in the areas of general corporate law, commercial real estate transactions, and tax and estate planning.
Experience
Mr. Kaplan represents purchasers and sellers in acquisitions in diverse market segments, as well as closely-held for-profit corporations and not-for-profit corporations, and has extensive transactional experience in creating and forming limited liability companies and family limited partnerships. Mr. Kaplan's M.B. A. has aided his ability to understand his client's business objectives, permitting him to add a different prospective in providing a solutions orientated approach to solving a clients problems. Mr. Kaplan has also advised clients on the establishment and interpretation of Employee Benefit Plans.
He also aids clients in their tax and estate planning, helping clients plan for and transfer family wealth to subsequent generations with the least possible income, gift and estate tax cost through the use of irrevocable trusts, insurance trusts, charitable trusts, private foundations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Included in his practice is the structuring and implementing Prenuptial and Living Together Agreements.
Finally, Mr. Kaplan maintains a varied real estate transaction practice, representing owners and tenants on a wide range of legal matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, tax planning, structuring of transactions, construction, financing, leasing and property management, as well as contractors and subcontractors in connection with both governmental and non-governmental projects.
